Arthur Ganong was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame in 1992. He joined the family-owned candy business as an apprentice at the age of 19, and spent the next 64 years with the company - 40 of them as its president. The Ganong family are credited with being the first company to introduce the chocolate bar.
