When Cedric Ritchie stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of Scotiabank in 1993, he was hailed by the Financial Post as “the country’s top banker.”  He began his 50-year career as a teller in Bath, NB and worked his way up through the organization.  Cedric Ritchie retired as Chairman on January 17, 1995 after three years of record profits, and remained on the bank’s Board of Directors until 1998.

 

Lorsque Cedric Ritchie a démissionné du poste de chef de la direction à la Banque Scotia en 1993, il a été salué dans le Financial Post comme le premier banquier au Canada.  Il a débuté les cinquante ans de sa carrière comme caissier au guichet à Bath, Nouveau-Brunswick et il a monté les divers échelons de l’organisme.  Cedric Ritchie a pris sa retraite du poste de président le 17 janvier 1995 à la suite de trois ans de profits record et il a continué à siéger sur le conseil d’administration jusqu’en 1998.
