E. Neil McKelvey was born in Saint John in 1925. He served in Europe in World War II and graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1949. After graduating he came home to Saint John and in 1955 he helped around the firm of McKelvey, Macaulay, Machum. In 1990 the firm merged to create Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales (later renamed Stewart McKelvey) - Atlantic Canada’s largest law firm.
